 There was a great segment on the Today show today about companies that scam people out of their gold by paying them a very small percentage of what their gold is actually worth. The segment talked about going to several places to get the best price possible and to sell your gold locally and to try not to send it in the mail. This was a great segment because we always advise our clients to do the following when thinking about selling gold.

1.) Take the gold to a trusted local jeweler to get your gold appraised for its value
2.) Never send your gold to a gold buyer in the mail
3.) Have your gold evaluated by more than one gold dealer before settling for a final price
4.) Ask for testimonials online or otherwise
5.) Get recommendations online or from friends
